TRAILER MECHANIC AM
Primary duties include, but are not limited to the following:
MAINTENANCE:
• Performs scheduled maintenance repairs of trailers and other equipment and provides emergency/unscheduled repairs when needed.
• Ensures that trailers are in service for delivery and pickup runs.
• Performs mechanical work including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, welding, and others as needed to repair and maintain trailers.
• Responsible for PMs and repair of all trailers and other equipment as needed.
• Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Safety operates mobile equipment including a forklift, front-end loader, and yard jockey/trailer combination.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, repair, and maintain trailers.
• Oil and grease equipment
• Analyze mechanical and operational problems and make necessary corrections.
• Repair, replace, or maintain the following, but not limited to tires, brakes, airbags, and airlines.
• Test equipment regularly to verify correct operations.
• Diagnose and repair trailers.
• Safety and Administration.
SAFETY AND ADMINISTRATION:
· Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
· Responsible for the safety, cleanliness, and organization of the maintenance department.
· Communicates with supervisor and other maintenance personnel.
· Coordinates and administers company policies as they relate to the maintenance department.
· Conducts tests and reports items regarding insurance qualifications to meet safety regulations and standards.
· Attends and participates in monthly safety meetings.
· Establishes personal goals and works with fellow employees toward continuous improvement and teamwork.

• 8-hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Overtime
• Weekend availability
EXPERIENCE:
• Diesel engine repair: 1 year (Preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• In this position the employee can expect to be exposed to extremes in temperatures as well as the work environment.
• The incumbent may be expected to lift, push, pull, and carry weights in excel of 60 lbs.
• Position requires the ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, and squat for extended periods.
• In a typical 8-hour shift the employee can expect to spend about 50% of their time standing and walking in different areas in the yard, approximately 20% kneeling, and the remainder of the time in various other positions, such as crushing and sitting.
• The employee must have the ability to climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolds, as well as be comfortable working at various heights including the tallest structures in the facility, approximately 100'high.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 3 years experience in manufacturing, general labor, or packaging goods
• Ability to lift to 60 lbs.
• Ability to perform certified DOT inspections (Preferred)
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical capability to frequently lift, climb, stand, walk, crouch, squat, bend, and kneel (Required)
