Position Objective:

To perform tasks required to maintain a clean, efficient shop and rental fleet. To provide
service in a manner that will optimize the company’s quality level, improve the company’s
efficiency; help achieve the company’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding equipment quality & customer service.

SHOP HELPER/CLEANER 

Job Responsibilities

• To provide direct help to Technicians on the floor when needed
• In-check trailers returning from rentals using proper documentation
• Wash and clean all equipment and trailers thoroughly, with special emphasis
being placed on the fact that much of the company’s inventory is used in food
service environments and must meet health code standards.
• Maintain a clean and orderly inventory of supplies throughout the shops
• Pick up trash & debris whenever & wherever seen
• Sweep and clean floors to help prevent slips, trips, and falls
• Remove trash throughout shops and properly discard
• Report any safety hazards to management
• Clean and maintain exterior shop areas (trailer holding yard, pallet/ holding tank
area). Keep clean of debris and weeds, keep discarded pallets organized and
stacked neatly
• Greet vendors and customers enthusiastically and promptly
• Help spot while trailers and equipment are being moved around the building
• Clean and service tools to ensure they are kept in good working function
• Clean and maintain shop vehicles. Report equipment condition, check oil, fuel
levels, tire conditions/air pressure, and water levels in batteries of electric
equipment
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals and report to
management when low

Requirements

• English proficiency 

Specific Job Functions:

• Use of a temperature-controlled pressure washer
• Use of various cleaning chemicals
• Use of razor blades, scrapers, steel wool, brillo pads, etc
• Use of Floor Scrubber Machine
• Up and down ladders, stepping in and out of trailers
• Climbing, crawling, kneeling, and laying to work in tight spaces inside and outside
of trailers
• Physical aspects of the job like carrying, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, balancing
• Use of hand tools, screwdrivers, pliers, vise grips, channel locks, pipe wrench, tin
snips, hammers, pry bars, etc
• Operating forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks, overhead cranes
• Use of impact driver and drills
• Use of weed whacker
