Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Clerk - Level I
Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate/Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our team at a logistics company here in Savage, MD. In this entry-level position, you will play a key role in maintaining the organization and safety of the warehouse, ensuring the accurate handling and tracking of materials, and providing essential support to production and shipping operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed using the appropriate computer programs.

Accurately count physical inventory to ensure proper stock levels.

Warehouse Organization & Safety:

Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment, adhering to prescribed safety regulations.

Ensure the warehouse is accessible, well-organized, and secure at all times.

Order Processing:

Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine the items that need to be moved, gathered, distributed, or shipped.

Handle product in accordance with lot tracking, serial capturing, and expiration monitoring procedures.

Material Handling & Movement:

Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate labeling methods.

Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas.

Operate a manual or electric pallet jack to transport materials within the warehouse.

Container Management:

Open bales, crates, and other containers in preparation for inventory handling.

Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

Shipping & Logistics Support:

Ensure an adequate supply of shipping materials is available at all times.

Coordinate pick-up arrangements with the specified carrier on customer purchase requests.

Support the receipt and shipment of goods for production and sales.

Additional Support:

Provide additional support to Operations, Production, and Shipping as required.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or management.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous warehouse or logistics experience is a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of inventory systems and product handling.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Physical ability to lift and move items as needed.
This position will be performed in a warehouse environment. Candidates must be able to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds, and work in varying temperatures as required by the nature of the warehouse.
