Job Description :

Responsibilities:


As a vital member of the team, this position is dedicated to the routine cleaning and maintenance of all common areas within our buildings. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the upkeep of entryways, utility rooms, stairwells, egress towers, roof gutters, and garages. The individual will maintain a vigilant awareness of the property and promptly report any issues to the supervisor.


 


Responsibility and Communication:



  • Reports to Jerome, the maintenance supervisor.

  • In case of absences, advance notice for time off must be communicated to the maintenance supervisor.

  • During inclement weather, consultation with the supervisor before reporting to work is required. If unreachable, contact the Chair of the Building Maintenance and Repairs Committee.

  • Time clock usage is mandatory. Clock in upon arrival and out at the end of each day. Notify the Maintenance Supervisor if leaving the grounds during work hours.


Communication and Technology:



  • Stipend provided for employee cell phones, which must be answered during business hours.

  • Regular communication with supervisors is essential.




Required Qualifications :









Cleaning Schedule:


At least weekly:



  • Clean entranceways and landings, including cobweb removal, sweeping, trash barrel maintenance, mopping, and general cleaning tasks.

  • Clean utility rooms twice a week, involving sweeping, wiping surfaces, dusting, and reporting any issues.


Monthly or as needed:



  • Wet mop common areas and steps.

  • Clean louvers, overhead diffusers, and utility room floors.

  • Monthly inventory of cleaning supplies/light bulbs with the Maintenance Supervisor.


Bi-annual tasks:



  • Spring and fall tasks such as seed and leaf bagging, washing window glass, and cleaning venetian blinds.

  • Winter preparations, including setting out "ice melt" containers and hoses.

  • Periodic streetlight inspection and maintenance.


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Weekly trash removal in assigned buildings.

  • Seasonal tasks like watering garage flowerpots, clearing snow, treating ice, and leaf removal.

  • Light maintenance tasks as assigned, including lot striping, handicapped/driveway marking, rail painting, mailbox staining, electrical box painting, fire hydrant painting, stair lip painting/caulking, and roof gas line painting.
