JOB TITLE: Office Manager
SALARY & BENEFITS:
$20–$26/hour, depending on experience. After meeting eligibility requirements, full-time employees may be eligible to enroll in the company’s health coverage plan, accrue paid leave, and participate in a 401(k) retirement plan.
SCHEDULE:
Full-Time, 35–40 hours/week
Monday – Saturday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

The organization’s mission is to divert usable building materials from the waste stream and redistribute them at low cost to the community.
ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:
We operate a 45,000-square-foot warehouse full of new and used building materials available to the public. Located in Southeast Baltimore near Highlandtown, we are the nation’s first successful, self-sustaining non-profit building materials reuse center, founded in 1984. POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Office Manager to join our leadership team. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s or Associate degree—or equivalent work experience—with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in an indoor/outdoor warehouse environment.

Bookkeeping or finance experience is a plus
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Management

Open and close facility; serve as key holder
-
Oversee cash handling and retail client service procedures
-
Manage office, warehouse, and marketing supply inventories
-
Handle insurance (business and health), vendor relationships, and reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual)

Maintain filing systems, including archiving
-
Oversee technology and systems: desktops, phones, software, POS, and time/attendance tracking
Financial Management
-
Manage accounts payable, sales receipts, and bank deposits
-
Troubleshoot and maintain merchant systems (POS, credit card terminals, transaction errors)

Oversee annual registrations and filings (taxes, audits, DOT, City regulations)

Provide light support for marketing/social media platforms (Shopify, Canva, Constant Contact, Instagram)
Human Resources

Support leadership in hiring, training, coaching, and termination procedures

Maintain and update employee handbook and policies

Administer employee benefits
-
Track time, attendance, and staff scheduling
Facility Management

Coordinate facility contracts and repair services (cleaning, waste disposal, equipment)

Maintain service and maintenance schedules for facility and equipment
