MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEVEL 2
SUMMARY: Maintain production and building equipment through installation, repair and preventative maintenance in a safe and efficient manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
1. Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic problems on building and
production equipment that uses electro-mechanical relay logic of PLC controls plus hydraulic,
pneumatic and related equipment.
2. Make simple tool cuts using maintenance shop machine tools (lathe, milling machine, welding equipment, etc.)
3. Keep accurate records/ paperwork according to established recordkeeping procedures.
4. Communicate effectively with Supervisors, other mechanics and various production personnel.
5. Other Duties as assigned.
6. Accepts responsibility to comply with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF and any other
regulatory requirements. And has the authority to report concerns that could impact these
requirements or suggest areas for improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have high school diploma or equivalent combination of education/experience.
2. Must have excellent attendance and good work history.
3. Must score a 50 or higher on the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test.
4. Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, climbing, twisting, standing,
pushing, pulling and lifting/moving (up to 50 pounds). Must be able to work from elevated
platforms and ladder lifts.
5. Must be able to work overtime as needed.
6. Preferred minimum of 10 years mechanical work experience.
7. Must have reliable transportation and own tools
8. Must have excellent mechanical aptitude and demonstrated troubleshooting skills.
9. Must have excellent understanding of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic drawings used to
troubleshoot equipment problems.
10. Must be forklift certified.
11. Able to work in a production environment, recognizing various sounds and alarms.
12. Must perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.
