LINE MECHANIC, MOLDING
SUMMARY: Perform set-up, repair, and troubleshooting tasks on Injection Molding equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
1. Set-up, repair and troubleshoot Injection molding equipment.
2. Assist in color changes.
3. Record daily log notes and maintain quality of machine output.
4. Keep accurate records/ paperwork according to established recordkeeping procedures.
5. Communicate effectively with Supervisors, other mechanics and various production personnel.
6. Assist in keeping raw materials and colorant at the press.
7. Responsible for assisting to keep Maguire mixers full.
8. Responsible for entering downtime in Mattec.
9. Must perform any other assigned duties.
10. Accepts responsibility to comply with all safety, quality, customer, ISO, SQF and any other
regulatory requirements. And has the authority to report concerns that could impact these
requirements or suggest areas for improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or equivalent combination of education/experience.
2. Must have excellent attendance.
3. Must score a 42 or higher on the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test.
4. Must have full understanding of preventative maintenance of equipment.
5. Must have own tools and transportation.
6. Must be willing to work overtime as required and be able to work any shift.
7. Must have proven computer/machine interface skills.
8. Must be able to work independently with some supervision.
9. Capable of physical mobility including walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, pushing,
pulling and lifting (up to 50 pounds periodically).
10. Capable of visual acuity to include distinguishing color variation and detecting defects.
11. Able to work in a production environment, around moving mechanical equipment, recognizing
various sounds and alarms.
12. Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.
