Job Description: Accountant


 

Position Overview:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in billing and collections, particularly with insurance companies, and possess strong analytical skills. This role is essential in ensuring timely billing, collections, and reporting for our clinical services.


 


Key Responsibilities:



  • Billing Insurance Companies: Accurately bill insurance companies for services rendered by our field clinical staff.

  • Claims Follow-Up: Follow up on claims submitted at 30, 60, and 90 days to ensure timely processing and payment.

  • Claims Collection: Collect on claims issued to insurance companies, resubmitting claims as necessary for those not received.

  • Patient Billing: Bill patient copays and coinsurance in a timely manner to ensure prompt payment.

  • Invoicing and Payment Posting: Send invoices via QuickBooks and accurately post payments received in the system.

  • Payment Processing: Accept payments over the phone and guide patients to send payments via a secure weblink.

  • Collections Management: Manage collection on patient invoices and escalate non-paying patients to collections as needed.

  • Credit Reporting: Report uncollected invoices to the three major credit bureaus.

  • Financial Reporting: Submit weekly/monthly spreadsheets of financial projections and other relevant financial data.

  • Accounts Receivable Management: Work towards reducing accounts receivable (AR) to 10% or less of total revenue.


Required Qualifications :
 

Qualifications:



  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology.

  • Experience generating and interpreting financial reports, including Profit and Loss statements and Balance Sheets.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous experience in a billing or accounting role, preferably within a healthcare setting.

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
