Job Description:

Our client is an industry leader in wood industrial products and animal bedding. Established in 1966, the company has grown to include 11 production facilities across the United States. They process raw materials through industrial equipment, which is then packaged for sale. The Industrial Mechanic will work in a safe and efficient manner, troubleshooting, adjusting, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing balers, mobile equipment, and other machinery, while also completing general maintenance tasks.

The position requires frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending, and kneeling.

Core Responsibilities:

• Set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, repair, and maintain equipment


• Oil and grease equipment as necessary


• Analyze mechanical and operational problems and make necessary corrections to maintain maximum productivity


• Change equipment sizes as required for production


• Test equipment to verify correct operation and production quality of products


• Analyze and correct causes of defective products and spoilage


• Identify and resolve causes of production delays


• Diagnose and repair mobile equipment

• Ability to work independently


• 3 years of industrial manufacturing experience OR qualifying training and education in industrial maintenance/mechanics


• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems


• PLC troubleshooting


• Knowledge of gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings


• Ability to read schematics


• Experience in an industrial setting
